To conduct save competitions during the Nordic World Ski Championships in both of our stadiums (ski jumping, cross-country), we prepared a lot of organizational measures and regulations to ensure the safety of volunteers, athletes, trainers, officials, and the OC and our volunteers. All participants have to be conscious that in spite of all taken measures the risk of infection with the Coronavirus still exists and cannot be totally excluded.
In the following you will find some FAQs all around the situation of COVID-19 during the Nordic World Ski Championships Oberstdorf 2021. Circumstances and guidelines are subject to constant dynamics so that there can be changes at any time.
Yes, the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships will take place. Due to COVID-19 there will be some restrictions. Depending on the dynamic Corona situation, some things like spectator capacities might still change.
All accredited persons – including volunteers – have to show a negative Sars-CoV-2-test. This test will be carried out on site 48-24h before you enter the event site. The LOC will pay the costs for this test.
Usually it takes 24 hours. Sometimes it takes a little bit longer.
Shortly before your assignment, the LOC will send you a link to register yourself for a test and to find all important information about. .You can use it to register for a test slot. The result will automatically be entered into the accreditation system and can also be found online.
The test centers can be reached on site and are signposted.
According to the latest development, you don´t need a 7 day PCR-test before your working time. The test 48 hours before entering the event is mandatory.
In addition to an actual negative Sars-CoV-Test you have to fill out a document about your health, testing, etc. each day. Not till then you get access to the event site. For that you just have to scan the QR-code on your accreditiation. Here you can fill out the document digitally.
Unfortunately, we cannot force the responsible health office to initiate a test. However, we can send you a personalized letter which explains the obligation of this PCR-test.
Yes, because it´s not a touristic overnight stay.
It is compulsory to wear a mask on the entire event site! The mask has to be worn tightly. Depending on your place of action and contacts you have to wear a “normal“ mask or a FFP2-mask. Masks will be provided by the LOC.

Medical certificates, which excuses from mandatory face masks, will NOT be accepted.
You must keep the minimum distance of 1,5 m on the entire event site. Please pay attention to hold this distance on the way to and from the stadiums (arrival, departure) as well.
If you feel sick or you have symptoms which suggests COVID-19 (fever, cough, cold in the head, sore throat, loss of taste and smell, etc.), please stay at home. Access to the event site is prohibited.

The entry requirements of the Foreign Office say that people entering the Federal Republic of Germany from a risk area or country have to go in quarantine for 14 days automatically. The current list of the risk areas for Germany you can find on the website of RKI. This list is constantly updated:

When entering Germany with a previous stay in a risk area within the last ten days, the following applies according to the new model regulation (November 8th, 2020):
The incoming volunteer must register at www.einreiseanmeldung.de before entering the country and have proof of this with them, go to their destination immediately after entering the country and isolate themselves there for 10 days (quarantine). According to the applicable state regulations, the 10-day quarantine can be ended at the earliest after the fifth day after entry due to a negative test result in relation to an infection with the coronavirus. However, the currently applicable rules in the state of Bavaria must be observed.
